The Bungalow Series

An ongoing miniature drawing series out of pure joy.

I have been drawn to and drawing houses since I was a child. They have become both theme, subject and object in my work. The bungalow is a categorie of housing I am particularly interested in. Typically built during the fifties, sixties and seventies, they convey a modernist and optimistic feeling yet are romantic at he same time. Because they are usually placed on the centre of a plot of land, the garden often surrounds the house and is filled with rosebushes, conifers, and evergreens. To me they are a melancholic dream.
